Environmental Services

Cleaning, laundry and maintenance services are provided to residents.   All personal items are marked with the resident’s name upon admission.  Machine washing and drying of personal clothing is provided at no charge. Items requiring dry cleaning are not recommended, however dry cleaning services are supplied by a local service.  These services are paid for by the resident.

In accordance with Home policy, placement of furniture, mounting of pictures, replacement of light bulbs and connection of electrical appliances are performed by our maintenance department.

Personal Possessions

The Davey Home’s philosophy is that the resident will feel more comfortable in making this their home if they are able to bring some of their familiar belongings such as pictures, mementos etc.  Display shelves, memory boxes and TV stands have been designed for each resident to display their items.  Larger items such as chairs, electronics, personal quilts or bedspreads can be brought in subject to meeting specified criteria and in keeping with the safety requirements of the nursing and housekeeping staff.

Storage for personal items is available in each resident’s personal wardrobe and cabinets provided in their room.  Residents may choose to rent a Personal Safe for storage of valuables
